SMS is a marine and industrial contractor in Portsmouth, VA. We specialize in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems. These systems include steam, fuel oil, lube oil, chemical, salt water fresh water, and hydraulic systems. Seager personnel are also trained in pneumatic controls, valve actuation, valve and pump maintenance, and hydraulic flushing. Our team of technicians, mechanics, and QA personnel work together to remove, repair, reinstall, align, and hydro test these systems. 
 
Seager operates a full-service valve and pump repair facility. We perform repairs, testing, and installation on nearly every type of valve and pump. We are experienced with gate valves, globe valves, relief valves, boiler safety valves, swing check valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, pressure/vacuum valves, and duplex strainers. 
 
We remove, service, and install temperature and pressure control valves, operators, and controllers. We are experienced with Leslie, Fisher, Amot, Cla-Val, Keckley, Mueller Steam, Trac Regulator, and many others.
 
We are experienced with piston pumps, centrifugal pumps, waste water pumps, fire-main pumps, lube oil pumps, and feed pumps from a diverse range of manufacturers.
 
Our machine shop provides all the necessary support for inspection, repair and testing of the equipment we service and sell. All valves and pumps are hydro tested upon completion of repairs. Hydro testing is accomplished to pressures up to 15,000 psi.
Regulating and relief valves are tagged with our company name, component ID, set pressure, and the test date.
